1) Build up run durability which should translate to speed. Run 4-5x per week and build mileage up to 35/week.

2) Raise FTP 7%. Bike 3x per week on the trainer - intervals + commute to work at least 1x per week.

3) Drop 1 second/100yd in the swim. Swim 3x per week concentrating on the front part of my stroke (less catch up, immediate drop of my hand once fully extended) and head position (slightly lower).

i feel like the last two years have been my off-season...

1) Start running again. i bought running shoes last night. Now i have to build up my walking time in them. Once i get to 30 minutes of walking being something i can repeat day after day, i will start run/walking.

2) Get back on the bike. Follow the beginner cycling program here on BT. Ride while watching football. Ride while watching movies. Whatever. Just ride.

3) Get back in the pool. Hopefully my foot won't swell up this time.

1) Get faster on the run (See #2 for part of it..) but increase mileage to about 25-30mpw with close to half of that being trail miles (weather permitting(already working!  5 mile race I did pretty well against the field and I'm just starting out on the build)

2) Improve Bike fitness.  Ride 3x per week, trying to build to an average 6 hours/week on the bike.  Weather permitting, go on as many group/night rides as possible.  (this one will be tough with the weather.. but I only did 1 hour spin class/week last winter, so even 3 hours a week is more consistent.

3) Get OW swim times to line up better with my pool times.  I could do consistent 1:40's in the pool last year, but barely get 2:00/100 in OW.  I think it was because I had only just scratched that speed so this year it's about being consistent and doing flip turns, as I noticed I was too used to grabbing teh side of a pool every 25 and take an extra breath.  Get to consistent 1:35-1:40's using 2 beat kick and do all flip turns from now on.

1. Swim: now that I know how to swim without my head out of the water like an eager terrier fetching a stick, swim 700 metres without stopping, so far only 75m

2. Bike: keep doing very tough spin classes with the ladies (mostly) until I buy the bike and gear I need

3. Run: stay paranoid about injury and keep walking much more than running until I get sub 200 lbs (223 today down form 238)

Overall: weight loss, injury free

1) Work on basic fitness and strength

2) Work on technical aspects of swimming

3) Try to get faster on the bike

I also want to do some cross-training, maybe a trip to Tahoe for skiing and maybe going back to figure skating to try to finish off my Bronze dances. (I was stuck on them when I quit.)

1. Not take the winter "off" like the last two years.

2. Hit all my weekly workouts.

3. Get MUCH stronger on the bike.

They all lead to my ultimate 2010 goal: Being fit enough to run the entire IMUSA marathon and finish in the daylight.
