Thanks. That might go on my Christmas list for my computer desk at home.

Ann - you passed 200 and are in the 300 posts now - great job!

I was watching for 300 and totally missed it. Guess I'll have to shoot for 400 this week.

Way to set goals

aspeelma - 2009-10-27 9:08 AM Ok Ghoulies I've been thinking...

I want to get a new bike. I'm leaning towards a tri bike but I haven't ruled out a roadbike with aerobars, that's what I have now though. So the question for the day is...

What's everyone got and do you love it or hate it and why?

You really have to look at your overall desire for bikes.  Are you solely going to use it for tris?  Then a Tri bike.  If you plan on doing some road riding or racing then a road with clipons is best.  You can have it fit with clip ons and without clip ons and readjust each time if necessary.

I have only done 1 tri - an Xterra so I used my mountain bike.  When I truly begin to contemplate an IM then I will look into a tri/tt bike (not that I have not already been looking and know exactly which bike I want but am waiting on it )

I don't want to do any road racing. I do have a lot of hills around so having the third ring does come in handy sometimes. I used to be a big Trek fan, and I like their tri bike, but I also like the Felt's and Cannondale has some nice ones, as well as 5 other companies.

I have a cervelo p2SL that I primarily ride.  I did 9 tris this summer so the choice for a tri bike was pretty much a no brainer for me.  That and Iowa is relatively flat so I didn't have that to worry about.  No complaints from me on the bike.  Although I have been happy with it I am thinking about upgrading to a carbon frame for next year.  Sort of a treat as I prepare for IMWI

Nope we were expecting you guys any time now.

Morning Dee Welcome to Thread #4

Thank you!  Sorry to read yesterday that your ITB is not yet cooperating.  So the foam roller is pretty good now?  I may have to try that.

So I have a newbie question...

I have been running 3-4 days a week.  Biking 1-2 a week (though that has dropped to 0-1 lately).  And just lately added swimming once a week.  ST is usually 2 a week.  I have been doing my ST on the scheduled REST day.

The more I look at different plans, the more I think that maybe it really means not to do ST on REST day.  Keep in mind that all of my workouts are at a beginner level.  I just don't want to be shootin' myself in the foot.....so to speak

Does REST day truly mean no real physical activities?
