Pre-race routine:

Waited for a long time. The transition areas are in two different places. I ate powerbar and bannanas drank water strected.
Event warmup:

Stretching praying and got in the water to get used
Swim
  • 41m 47s
  • 2078 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

I have only done one open water swim since 2007. I have only swam in my wet suit once this year so I would have changed that becuase i had to look up every 30 strokes or so because of all the training being done in a pool.
Transition 1
  • 03m 20s
Comments:

long 400+ yard run to the transition then another 100 yards to get out of the transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing my transition was pretty quick.
Bike
  • 3h 20m 1s
  • 56 miles
  • 16.80 mile/hr
Comments:

This was a good course once you got out of the Wrightsville beach area. Because of stating so long after the full the trtaffic was heavey in the town.
Transition 2
  • 10m 12s
Comments:

just neeeded to switch all clothes. Went to the tent to make sure I had everyhting I needed
Run
  • 3h 39m 1s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 16m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

I walked the whole run with the exception of a few minute runs. I have had PF in my left foot so I was not able to train for the run for the last 9 weeks. I was actually going to stop after the bike but I had such a good swim and run i decided to finish and I am glad that I did.
What would you do differently?:

pray for my healing complete healing. I would love to really have healthy enough feet to train for a run.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I had two rotaotr cuff surgeried this year. Suffered a month with staph infection in my leg and my feet have PF in them. So I was pleased that i could even compete. i really wanted to do a 8:30 so a sub 8 for this master Clysdale is an accomplishment.

Event comments:

I just thank the Lord that I could compete after the year I have had. To God be the glory.

I can do all things through Christ that strengthenes me.
