Also race directors have a way of bs'ing the water temps and forcing wetsuits even when they shouldn't.  Eagleman a few years ago it was 98 degrees and 100% humitidty for days on end before the race.  Water was way to warm and they let people wear suits.  Overheating and dangerous on a day like that.

Probably becuase of the heavy rain we had last night.  Huge storms rolled through.

Probably the best place "all around" is over by the transition area.  You'll get a flavor for all of the times a racer come in/out of there and the finish line is very close.  

Yeah parking in fairmount is up by the packet pickup the day before the race.  It's a long walk up and down that hill to the Trans area.  

Another option would be if you part out by the Ben Franklin Parkway near the Art Museum.  Then you can take your time and walk down West River Drive towards the Tran area.  Probably a longer walk for sure, less steep but more to look at.  

Depends of what you want to do and the people who you have with you.

I'm in wave 2 with a start time of 7AM.... Can't wait.

Ugh.  I see bib numbers at least as high as 26xxWished I had signed up for the elite wave now (not that I can compete with any of you up there).  Stuck back in either Wave 8 or 9.  Thinking of strapping a bullhorn on my bike with an "On Your Left!" recording on repeat.

I'll be honest here.  You can probably still reach out to Lars or Gretchen and get moved.  I can't see why the would not do that. 

Glad I'll be off the course before the cahos starts.

I'm banking on a non-wetsuit swim as well.  The age group elite wave goes off right after the pros and it's a stacked field this year.  I'd like to put a good solid effort in without the suit on and gap a bunch of the runners in the pack. 

If it's even close to 78 on race day I am not going to wear mine.  No point in overheating and starting the bike off in a bad way.

Lets hope the course stays clear just long enough for me to get off of it...

Wow, you boys really know how to make a first-time oly racing MOP age grouper feel welcome!  Yeah, I know, you're all on my left.  LOL, I'll try to stay the heck out of your way.

I may or may not do SH this year.  Stephen is out for this year as he just had his 2nd child.  I don't think he's racing but who knows.  

Next up after Philly is Timberman if my body makes it that far!

Take is slow and let your body heal correctly.   It is what it is and your body will let you know when it's time to get back to work.

79 Today and yesterday was the warmest day we've had all year.  This week every day is over 90 degress with high humidity and chance of T-Storms.  Lets just hope the nasty rain stays away.  This will all go to $hit if it turns into a DU.....
