Pre-race routine:

I got up at 5am, Race was at 6 ish.. My routine was simple, go to the store, grab a cup of coffee, and head to the gym to set up :)
Event warmup:

I wore the wrong watch and the one I wore didn't have split memory, so all my times are approximations(Except for the bike and finish time)
Swim
  • 04m 30s
  • 272 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 02m 58s
Comments:

Eventually I'll get around to buying clipless, until then, I'll be battling those stupid baskets...T1 was better this time around, it was a bit of a distance from the pool to the Transition area so my time was still up, but everyone's was the same
What would you do differently?:

Get Clipless
Bike
  • 31m 17s
  • 10.4 miles
  • 19.95 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 01m
Run
  • 16m 55s
  • 2.3 miles
  • 07m 22s  min/mile
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

The fact that I'm just NOT a morning person

Event comments:

For 6am on a Sunday the running club had volunteers to help, and put on a nice little organized event, Heck, I'm very much considering joining the running club because of it.

nice race.....sounds like a fun way to practice a Tri!!

We used to live in Glen Ellyn and St. Charles...would be fun to have practice Tris around here.

Keep up the good work!

Hey, I hear ya about not being a morning person. Why can't they do tri's at like 9 am? Or even a nighttime tri- around 5? I think we should team up and start our own race for late risers like us! Anyways, your swim and run times are awesome!!! Looks like your training has paid off nicely. Great finish!
