Help me decide

I have to choose between two races.  It would seem that Tina has it out for me and picked two very challenging courses.  Had I known that was part of the agreement....  Of course I run and bike on hilly courses all the time so they technically are both suited for my training.  Pumpkinman is a point to point course.  My first HIM was a point to point and that is a pain in the behind, but it's doable if you have someone around to help get you through all the crap instead of taking the shuttles and what not.  Elephantman is first year for long course but it sounds like a really appealing course (and closer to home).  It sounds like RD is really good for Elephantman so being first year for the long course shouldn't be too big an issue right?

That's funny.  Heading to NM is kind of the direction I'm heading as well.  It seems the better of the two locations.  Plus I have never been to NM and I have been to NV

To make sure I have some fun in my race season (ok, so the whole thing is fun but this is extra fun) I just signed up for this - http://www.warriordash.com/register2011_arizona.php

Hopefully this one delivers better then the last mud run I did, which was ok, but a bit lacking in what they were advertising.

The last one they did in the Dallas area had a fire line to jump over as the last obstical.

Hmmm after everyone has run the whole thing are are tired and winded lets jump over fire. One lady misjudged her stpes and fell on the fire. 2nd and 3rd degree burns. ouch!!

I would think the fire line would be at the beginning.  That would not be fun to land on.  We have a sub. teacher here that signed up fro the one in Dallas this year.  I don't think I am crazy enough to do the warrior run.

Saturday before my race the wife, 3 boys and I went to a Zip Line course. Its a huge place that does paintabll and a bunch of other stuff. They also do a JailBreak run. Obsticals through the wood type thing. Looks like the 4 boys will be doing that come september.  I told them jsut like in real life if we are jail breaking it once we get out you are on your own. I may even use them as sheilds. They have people dressed as prison guards that will shoot you with paint balls.

Hello everyone.. just an update on my has been where abouts. Three weeks ago I came down with some kind of upper respiratory infection/ flu type symptoms that sideline me from training. The only thing I was able to do and I only did it because I felt I had to do something was swimming. I could not run or elevate my hr is such a way to feel that I was coughing up a lung.
I took a break from the b&r and I tried to let myself get acclamated with non-physical activities, specially knowing that I was going on a cruise. I went to the Bahamas for a week and it was great to get away from the cold weather and finally be able to suck up some of the nice warm carribean rays. It was great! aside from having too much FOOD! yeap! way to much and I am sure I gained more than a few but that's what seems to be the trend when you go on a cruise.
I've done a couple before and never had much trouble with motion sickness but this one was a home run for Dramamine. I was sucking on those things like they were going out of style. Maybe I am overly sensitive and can feel a slight move on the ship. I felt EVERY freaking move. The worse was trying to run on the treadmill. I could not run straight, I kept bumping or holding on to the side rails. I had to concentrate and fixate my sight on a spot in the dreadmill so I would not be moving from side to side. I took two spin classes and felt the same way. I truly thought the bike was going to tip over but it was just my mind playing the usual tricks. The fun part was trying to walk in a straight line sober while heading to the bar

I got back this past Sunday and it took me two days to get back to normal. I swam on Monday and did the drainer on Tuesday. I am trying to get motivated for what is coming up but still laggie-gagging in upping the w.out hrs and getting up early. We'll see how this week goes.

I just wanted to pass along some information to everyone on some tri related products.
I was able to acquire some sponsorship deals (all I get out of this is discount on products) and just wanted to pass on the savings to whom ever wants to try it.
