Don't go to the NYHRC on 57th St - their pool is currently closed.

Yellow and Red transitions are set up already.
The swim start & finish are ready!
The long walk to swim start this year will be easier...there is a new path extension, so it's a straight shot...no need to walk thru the tunnel and up the steep hill.

The extension is also great for spectators. Much more space to watch the swim.

I wasn't planning to buy anything at the expo, but when I was doing my trainer ride tonight, I managed to snap my ProfileStryke bottle cage in half. Dammit. Perfect timing.

I checked into the Hilton yesterday afternoon, been enjoying the city! I'll be at race check-in at 12 sharp! I know it makes no difference to get there early, but I'm soooo anxious about the race I can't help myself!

FYI for those staying at the Hilton, there was no directory in my room and no signs in the lobby, but when I used a different elevator bank than my own, I finally saw the sign pointing me to the gym. It's on the 5th floor, in case you're looking to stay warm on the stationary bike (my bike is currently in custody of tribiketransport).

The Hudson is at 71 as of July 9; something tells me it will be 72 (and for the pros, wetsuit illlegal, right?) by race day. And with how hot it is outside, I plan on going on sans wetsuit; I'll overheat otherwise. Anybody else?

If there is even a chance that the jellies will be out on Sunday I'll be wearing my suit.  I was stung on the hand and foot 2 years ago and it was no fun at all.

Under 78 = wetsuit legal for everyone.

I could care less about wetsuits for buoyancy or comfort purposes, I just want one for the Hudson.  For OWS out at brighton beach I've dropped the wetsuit already.

Just got back from the Expo.  I'm not racing (doing NJ State next weekend) but needed a few things.  Good representation this year and some decent deals to be had.  Check out Paragon's setup, All 2XU gear 20% off.  Also I think it was Superrunners, corner booth across from goodie-bag area, has the best deal on Gels; GU 5 = $5 and GU Chomps 3 = $5.  Everyone else was $1 - $2.50 a peice for Gels.  Also, SBR Shop on 58th and 7th is giving all participants 10% off their purchase and they have a few Trek Speed concepts in stock to drool over!   Gotta love the Expo's!  I stock up!

Good Luck to Everyone Racing!

Dropped in the expo around 12PM today right after it opened.  Got packet picked all completed, and ran through the expo - pretty solid actually, far better than anything at a typical IM.

I hit the expo today. I don't remember it being as big as it was a couple of years ago, but it was still pretty great.

I'm #682. My wave is the third AG wave--hits the water at 6:05. Silver caps.

I'll be at bike check in tomorrow and tours start at 2. See you then! Have a great race everybody. Finish fast-- it's gonna be a hot one!

I never cover my bike. If it really pours overnight, I'll just put a little lube on the chain in the morning. The seat's going to be wet anyway, as soon as I sit on it.

Good on you for skipping the wetsuit. I'll be wearing mine.

Wear it on your back so it doesn't flap up and down during the ride.  If you have a bib strap it makes it really easy and you also don't have to worry about putting it on in T2 then.

Good Luck!!!

Btw, just in case anyone missed the underwear run last night (or just hasn't made it yet to the expo) - here's a bunch of pics I took:

Good luck all tomorrow!

Bib # 3922.

I'll be wearing an Orange "Life without Lupus" singlet.

I go off in the 7:27 wave.

Have a good race out there and if you see me, my real name is Tim - I only go by Condorman when I'm fighting crime...  :-)

I asked at the race info desk and he said if they said at the briefing that You only needed it for the run, Then that's all you need iT for. Also in the athletes guide online and at packet pickup it does not mention wearing it on the bike. It's only mentioned on the paper that came in the Manila envelope. Personally, I'm not wearing it til the run
