Subject: Broken trainer - can it be fixed? I can no longer loosen the flywheel on my Cycleops Fluid trainer enough to allow me to put my bike on.. It loosens, up to a point, then the flywheel completely detaches. I believe that the coupling nut (at least I think that's what the piece is called. It looks like the picture, but it's round) is stripped. I can tighten by inserting the screw further into the nut, but there's no way I can get my bike on the trainer with the wheel that tight. I even tried taking all of the air out of my wheel and no luck. Did a search to see if I could order replacement parts and couldn't find anything. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Can I just buy a replacement nut from the hardware store? Any other ideas on how I can fix it? I bought the trainer off of craigslist at the end of 2007. Of course, I'd rather not buy another one if I can just replace one piece! (couplingnut.gif) Attachments ---------------- couplingnut.gif (26KB - 6 downloads) |
