Off to work now but it is getting really really hard to concentrate!!!!

Super nervous!!!!! Will swim in my Tri shorts (always do in ocean swims without any problems) and tri tank...will change to a bike jersey so I can have pockets and extra sun protection...then change to tank top for the run ;-)

Got my "seasafe" sunscreen protection with jellyfish sting protection...lol....maybe this will make me slide fast in the water ;-)

Happy travels!!!!!

So, My first taper run I get wicked ITBS (later found out it was actually caused by improper cleat placement). Any who, my goals immediately changed from a time goal to seriously just finishing!!! Having said that I am pretty sure I can finish but am going to doc this morning and hoping for a cortisone injection in both knees. Has anyone had one of these injections? Does it work? Did it hurt? Did it work for you and your ITBS? Are you sick of this maniac and his questions?

Last 2 hour ride.....had a GREAT ride.
Then, went and bought a set of Michelin Pro 3 Race tires, as my old ones have some abuse on them and I was worried.
Guy at the shop said that for an IM distance, latex tubes weren't worth it, as they could lose a fair bit of pressure between the time I pump them up in the morning and the time the ride is over. Like 20 PSI he said.

Close call today. Just started my ride and was going about 20 MPH and started through a blind intersection when the truck in front of me slammed on the brakes because another car decided to turn. By time I saw what was going on it was too late. I tried my best to miss the truck in front of me but no luck. Bike and body are both ok. I rushed my bike over to get checked and other than cosmetic damage and the rear derailur being knocked out of alignment all is ok. I've got a skinned knee and big bruise on my left shin. I'm replacing the rear tire because the road ate it up pretty good from skidding. I'll try the ride again tomorrow to get a few miles on the tire.

I'm swimming in my tri kit with a DeSoto Liftfoil on top. Had no issues is the salt water at FL with this setup.

I've been shopping around for a legal swimskin and almost bought the Liftfoil, but the DeSoto website says this one became illegal on 1 sept 2010???

I think I may just swim in the same trisuit I used for 70.3 Hawaii.

The new Tyr Torque Pro and Elite speedsuits are legal, although it may be cutting it close to buy one before Cozumel.  That's what I'm going to wear over my tri suit.

In Cozumel - for a dive trip - triathletes starting to infect the place   ,,,, sorry on a MX keyboard, cant find the colon to make a smiley face.   Anyway, water temps 82, air temps in the 80s, a bit humid.  Partly cloudy, a bit breezy.   Any questions about whats going on now, ask em and i will try to find out

Good luck to all!

There is a non-rubberized version, this is the one I have.

My next ride will be in Cozumel! Most likely Friday afternoon. Leaving from Iberostar for 45 minutes. Who's in?

TriForestTri (Ben) and I are planning a ride on Friday from Iberostar too. I don't think 45 minutes is on the plan but we're definately up for a ride. Friday is bike assembly day too.

Chris,
Whoooo Hoooo! I have so many questions, I don't even know where to start.
Biggest question right now...How hard is it to get a taxi in Cancun big enough to take my bike box (2 bikes in it)?
Should I try to call ahead to arrange it?

I'm in for the Friday ride. My plan calls for a 40 minute ride. I'll have to check the map since we are staying at Melia. We get in Wednesday so Friday will be perfect for me. Be sure to post what time you all want to ride.

I fly into Cancun and will  be using this service to get to the ferry to Cozumel: http://www.cancun-discounts.com/cancun-airport-transportation.htm

I am going the shared route although am traveling alone which cost me $90. Paid in advance and they meet you at the airport. What day you get in?

There are taxis all over, vans and cars.  Theyre more thanhappy to take your pesos  ....  but if you want to be sure, youcan arrange ahead of time,  The other option is the bus from Cancun to PDC

Speaking of Pesos, how did you exchange dollars to pesos? Can you do this at the airport?

Melia is on the other end of the island so it may be tough to hook up for a ride. Friday will also be a pretty full day. I intend to do the open water swim at CHANKANAAB from 7am to 9am. Then I have to re-assemble my bike and take it for a test ride/ training ride. Then we have to pick up our packets. I'm beginning to think that once we get there, the race will start before we have time to realize what we've gotten ourselves into.

If you buy anything there in American money (which they will except dollars but not coins) they will give you change in pesos.  Just make sure you are familiar with the conversion.
