Subject: RE: Dueces wild 2010I've done it for the last two years. I'm out this year. My wife is sick of spending our anniversary in Show Low.
It's a great race. Here are some comments:
1 ) Expect the water to be cold I was perfect with a double cap, too hot with a neoprene cap.
2 ) Be prepared for flats. I've flatted both years and saw a number of other people on the
side of the road. Don't plan your whole race around a "no flat" strategy.
3 ) On the bike don't expect for the port-a-potties to be right at the aid stations. There is
one for every aid station but it could be a little ways past it. That wasn't fun riding the
first year when I missed one.
4 ) It gets windy in the afternoon. Glasses are a good idea on the run.
5 ) You're at altitude. Make sure you sunscreen at T1. They haven't had sunscreeners when
I've been there and you can get very crispy.
