Thanks Not sure where you want to go in Richmond but my ride is; -West on Barnnet Hwy -Hastings St. -Along the Vancouver Bike lane (Union and Frances) -Across the Burrard St bridge -4th Ave (west) to Jericho -South East along SW Marine Dr. - Over the Aurthur Laing Bridge to Templeton and then down to the Iona WWTP and then back home again......this link looks like crap but it gives you an idea of the route. http://www.mapmyrun.com/route/ca/bc/port%20moody/336127273585645751 |

New user![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks for the map HAZ. If I want to shorten it a little, do you think I can go south on knight (or any of the parallel streets) ? One more thing .. Has anyone tried the Queensborogh bridge ? it looks like it has a bike lane I'm just not sure how to get there and where to go from it. |

Queensborough bridge has a bike lane off of Marine on the North side. You can also get there from 7th Ave and 22nd St. Google maps is out of date as the bridge entrance has changed. From the south side, go under the bridge along Boyd St. On the right is a sidewalk that leads up onto the bridge. Follow the signs. Very well traveled bridge, stick to the right. |

Yep, this is exactly the route I would take too. You don't really have to go on Hastings. Where Barnet becoming Hastings is where the Francis Union bike route starts. Also in Vancouver, the route (it's the same one) is called Adanac. I didn't look at Haz's map, but once you are up the Barnett which eventually gets called Inlet dr. turn left at the Chevron station where Hasting Starts, cross over the cross-walk on the South side of Hastings, you can see it here: http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=0,0,... follow the path on what is called Cliff Avenue. Turn right on Union Street and then you are on the Francis Union bike route. Then follow the Adanac bike route signs through Yaletown, on pacific Avenue then over the Burrard St. bridge. It's a better ride to Richmond along SW Marine Drive, but it's shorter and easier, if from Burrard Street, you turn right once your are over the bridge, then take the first left and follow the Cypress bike route all the way to Richmond. And you go over the Arthur Laing bridge. Also depending on where you are going in Richmond, you might want to take the Adanac bike route and then go over the Cambie Bridge. From there you can follow the Cambie bike route (it's pretty good actually) and then head over the new skytrain bridge into Richmond. This bridge is way way nicer than the Arthur Laing. |

Actually I think I've ridden over all of the bridges in the lower mainland (that are rideable) except the Golden Ears bridge. You can only ride on the West side of the Queensborough. It's pretty easy to figure out actually. There are a lot of sides. If you are coming from the North Side which you would be, go West of 22nd Street Station, just a little, then turn left and you'll see the signs that take you on the approach over the bridge. From there, you will get off the bridge and follow either Westminster Hwy or River Road into Richmond. When you get off of the bridge you are on Boyd street. Follow that West, past a little shopping centre. Eventually it becomes Westminster Hwy, then you can either stay on Westminster Hwy into Richmond or turn right at River Road and stay on River Road (a bit quieter, more cycled route). That's here http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=0,0,... if you want to cut off some riding, take Cambie street. |

You can actually ride on either side... there is a bike path on the East side of the bridge and it goes into Queensborough... You can come from the East as well down the skytrain path (which connects with Columbia st)... when you approach the bridge there is a pike path/ramp that will take you to the East side, or you can follow the path and go under the bridge and take a ramp up to the West side. |

Pro![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Oh cool. I knew you could ride on the East side of the bridge before they redid it, but didn't know that you still could. I'll make sure to notice next time. The west side of the bridge is nicer than before though. |

Yea after they redid it both sides are really nice to ride... however, unless you live in Queensborough I don't see the point of using the East side... I always go West side on my rides as well. |
