Subject: Gmap-pedometer..... accurate?
I've been using Gmap-pedometer for some time to figure out run and bike mileage.  While it is very consistent on the distance for the same route over and over, sometimes I get the nagging feeling it is over estimating distance.

Anyone else get that same nagging feeling?  Or is this something I should bring up with my shrink?

Anyone have any comparisons with their Garmin or whatever?

How much do you think it overestimates? And why do you think that?

There will be an inherent level of inaccuracy in everything. What that level is depends on the tool, and if the level is acceptable is up to you.

Personally, I've found it to be good enough for my needs.

Use it all the time for bike and run routes.  Insanely accurate.  I've compared it against GPS and my cyclocomuter and any differences are marginal at best (i.e., GPS:  40.11 miles, Computer:  40.15, Gmap-pedometer:  40.13).  Close enough for me.

Very accurate.  Checked it against the length of the 11 yard pool in my old apartment bldg...it had it at 11.088 yds.

I G-mapped out the 56 mile Mooseman 1/2 IM bike route and it came out amazingly close, like within less than 1/10th of a mile.  Good enough for me!

Last night's run, Garmin has me at 4.18.  gmaps with automatic street draw had it at 4.3.  Manual draw had it at 4.15
