Pre-race routine:

Drove up to Madison on Friday. Picked up my packet and then settled into my suite at the Super 8 in Verona. I must have had the Presidential Suite as I had a hot tub in my room. You couldn't pay me to get into it.

Had some papa john's for dinner and hit the sack around 9:30. Woke up at 5:00 ate my PB&J and Cliff bar and headed out to Blue Mounds.
Event warmup:

No warmup. Just got on the bike and started riding.

Comments:

This was my 2nd time doing this race. It wasn't any easier than the first. I was able to ride all the hills with no walking. A couple of times I wasn't going any faster than 4 MPH and my HR was getting close to my max. Around 8:30am the winds decided to kick up and we had some strong winds. This is an extremely challenging but fun ride. The last climb to the finish was a killer. Overall, I was happy that I was able to ride the whole thing and pass people on the climbs. When you finish this you feel a strong sense of accomplishment.
What would you do differently?:

Keep getting stronger and hit up the 200k at some point.
Post race
Warm down:

I rode one loop around the parking lot to calm my HR down after the last climb. If I would have gotten off the bike right at the finish I would have collapsed. I needed to cool down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The massive hills and wind

Event comments:

I love this race. The challenge of it is one thing, but the support is amazing. The aid stations are fully stocked with food, gels, drinks, endurolytes, etc... The post race bash is a full on BBQ with all the food and drink you can have. If you like a challenge and like to suffer I would highly recommend this race.

Nice Job Matt - I'm impressed you even considered the 200k... I can hardly imagine. What a killer ride!
