Subject: RE: Oliver Tri Yes, the Lakeside is your best (and closest) choice. The Oliver 1/2 is an awesome race. The weather is quite unpredictable though. Race day can be scorching hot or pouring rain. Ya never know. A one loop swim, 2 1/4 loop bike and a two loop run. Swim is a beach start done in waves so you'll be swimming in groups of ~200/300. It's fairly spread out so there's lots of room to position yourself. Bike course is relatively flat with one short hill (1/3km, 7%) that you'll have to do twice. Most times there is a wind so you'll be fighting it one direction or the other. The run also is quite flat with a small hill (1/4km, 2%) Half of the course is along the river channel and the rest through residential areas. The race is very well organized and highly rated by those who have participated. Come on down and join the fun! |
