Anyone else feel like the Olympic swim was a little longer than 1500m?

If you have ever done one of Jack's races you would know that he does them on the long side.  Last year he went as far as to say in the prerace meeting that he made the swim long.  I would say close to 1600m.

I am an above average swimmer, and know my pace.  I would say the corse was 1600 for sure.

Anyone else think the penelty for drafting should be higher than a lousy 2 minutes!! # 225 was drafting off riders over the entire bike course.  She got cought once, but went right back to draft mode once the ref left.  This is not ITU...nor a team event.  I am sure I will catch some heat for this but when some one gets a podium spot by cheeting, I have a problem with that!

Hi Jim,
Yes, I did TriWaco last year and remember the swim being long then as well.  I also remember his diatribe during the pre-race meeting being a bit long.

In my best Jack imitation voice: "The swim course has been GPS'd 10 times.  It is exact.  If your swim time is long it's because you suck at swimming and need to train more".  Laughing

All the times looked long.  I think the course was long.
