First and fore most enjoy yourself.    Relax.  I hope you have a few of the old gang to cheer you on.
Keep transition clean and simple.  The less you bring will keep the confusion to a minimum.

The last time I did this race, a hurricane came up the east coast the night before that brought cold temps and rain after what had been great weather.

So glad I don't have to deal with that again.

there is about a 25 yard stretch with loose gravel in about mile 6 as of last Saturday. I had to get off my bike and walk over it. I am not sure if they paved it or not. Weather is calling for rain.

Also I hope people are reading the emails they are sending out. There is a NO PASS ZONE coming out of the bike transition. And I believe it said that if you pass someone on your bike in that zone it is an automatic DQ. Also be aware that the new bike route goes past a Fire Station. There will be 3 flags out  GREEN YELLOW AND RED. if the flag is RED the race will be stopped so the emergency vehicles can respond.
Also, there is a 30 minute time limit for the swim. They will not let you leave the bike transition if you exceed that time.
Enjoy and have fun!

The water temp is nice, probably 70. Swam in the lake 2x this week. The 30min limit for the swim starts with the last wave.

The gravel section is supposed to be swept and I think have carpet over it. That is a no-pass zone too. I have ridden over the gravel each time I rode the course, just go slow. Not sure how windy it will be in the am, but be prepared for very choppy water maybe even white caps. Hee Haw!!

Oh, and hi everyone...been lurking all summer, cazenovia was my first tri this year. Had a blast....hooked now!

Wow! Weather could not have been more perfect. Slight drizzle on the run. Best time in a race yet. The swim was brutal. Felt like water rugby. Next time I'll try to get up front a little. It was a good day!

Re the no-passing zones . . .  Any penalties/DQ's issued?  I got passed by several people going out and coming back in the NP zone . . . I WANTED to pass some people (because I am such a godawful swimmer, I'm faster than those I'm biking around) but I did not wish to get DQ.  Looking at the results online, I see nothing to indicate any penalty time or DQ's.  I guess next time I just ignore the rules and not worry about it?  How frustrating.
