My experience is that (my) fresh/new sweat doesn't smell. It's only if you have sweat before, it dried and then you start sweating again it's get's smelly.

And your experience is confirmed by scientific facts. Sweat is merely water and salt and has no odor on its own. It's the bacteria on your skin that feed on the salt and then produce waste that causes the odor.

ewillmore - 2010-07-23 9:58 PM keep the deodorant.  ditch the cologne.

Completely agree with this.

I love you guys. I really do. Between Fuzzy's chlor saturation, Geneva Convention violators, cheeseburgers and bacon ...

Shakin' with laughter.

If you really can't get in a shower after working out/racing, CLEAN CLOTHES and deodorant w/ antiperspirant (scented or not) will go a long way toward banishing odor. Wipedown with baby wipes first is even better.

I'm with everyone else on ditch the cologne. It's horrifying in a pool, but even just working out, the extra heat coming off you seems to concentrate and send that smell out. I'd rather stick my face in your sweaty armpit.

I smell like a hyena these days, for reasons I'd rather not go into, but I've found trying to mask it is an even worse combination than just stinking.

I'll chime in with the consensus - don't worry about it.  Clean clothes, shower, a little deodorant and it's fine.  I'd forget the cologne.

Febreeze is nice for the gym bag and other gear that is hard to wash.
