I hope feel better soon.  I'll be at Lake Stevens.  It is pricey and has some hair raising parts of the bike course, but it's still fun so I'll be back for my second go-round.

I'm jumping right in.  Of course, that's because my training for CdA was so limited, I never reached the stage of being burned out and I took it easy enough during the race that I didn't beat myself up.  I've got a 200-mile bike ride tomorrow (Seattle to Portland ride), then an Oly next weekend and the Lake Stevens 70.3 in August.  We'll see how all this works out!

I waited until after the race too.  That was the one shirt I wanted and I couldn't believe they were sold out.  I asked the people there about it and they said if enough people e-mail the store folks saying they wanted one, they might make more, but it would be a long shot.

Thanks for the link.  I have been looking forward to seeing this as I missed the awards ceremony.  Cool to see you were interviewed!  Who knew the periodic table would be something to put on your list of accomplishments.  I guess I need to find a schtick before next year... 

Too bad about the shirts.  I didn't know about them until Rene told us they existed at the Welcome Dinner.  Of course by Saturday they were all sold out   That would have been a cool thing to have.

Good luck at STP!!  I have always wanted to do that one.

so who sets up the new thread for 2012.  I am new to posting but have lurked around quite a bit.  This will be my 3rd time at CDA.  looking forward to it.  curious about the rumors with the potential bike course change.

Anyone else order and get their finisher's jacket?  I'm a bit disappointed.  It came in not as they described it at the tent.  And the CdA logo on the back is just an "iron-on" type of logo.  Not even embroidered.  They told me it would also have the distances on the back.  Nope.  It's really just a plain mdot jacket with a cheap iron-on CdA logo o the back (not even a year).

Anyone else a bit upset at this?

Just yesterday.  It's super cheezy.  I see what they are doing, making one standard jacket and just iron on the cheap logo on the back collar.  I'm sending mine back.  It's not worth the $100 (even with the discount).

Disappointing to hear this! I ordered one, but haven't rec it.

It seems that they are going in this direction with a lot of the merchandise (standard "template" items with silk-screen event logo).  I've noticed it progressively at most of the WTC events I've done over the last few years.  There is less and less selection of actual event-specific items at each race now.  Unfortunate.  I'm now very happy with my decision to pick up one of the finisher jackets for IMCDA '10 (since I never put down the dough for one when I completed it in '10) on the clearance racks, which still has the full embroidered back, etc.  I had a feeling that they were going to move to something like this when they were coming around with the clipboards and order forms in the line at the expo the morning after the race.  Be interesting to see if they do this at all the remaining events for 2011 (which I suspect they will).  If so, I hope they have some clearance IMAZ '10 finisher jackets at Tempe in November!  =)

That sounds really lame, and slightly fishy....

I've been exchanging a few emails with someone at shopironman.com, and as of an email I got yesterday, they were still waiting on the jackets to arrive from KSwiss...which she said would be within the next 2 weeks and that emails with tracking numbers would go out.  I would definitely send them an email!

I will not be happy with anything less than the specific jacket they had for trying on in the tent (we were told several times that it was the exact same jacket but in black).....and it better be embroidered!  (don't care too much about the distances on the back).

Ordered one, no sign of it yet.  Would you mind posting a picture if you haven't sent it back yet?  Pretty lame of them to promise one product, then deliver another.

I don't care about the distances either but it's just another thing they promised and did not deliver.  Which includes the embroidered logo as well as the date.

It is the Kswiss jacket with the velcro straps on the sleeves.  Same physical jacket. 

It just does not have an embroidered CdA logo on the front.  No date, No distances. Etc..  Just a cheap iron-on logo on the neck on the back that looks like it'll wear off in a few months.

Lets see a pic guys.    The screen printing isn't a dealbreaker for me, as long as it looks somewhat decent, since I actually really liked the cut/style of the jacket itself.

Lucky for all you guys in Florida/the south since it looks like they're shipping from Florida.   The lady I emailed with said they were shipping Fedex ground which usually takes FOREVER!
