Here are the pics.  And it does not appear to be screen printing.  Looks like an cheap iron-on transfer (looks better in the photo than in real life).  And yes they are shipping from Tampa (only 45 mins from me)

I signed up for '12.  CDA will be my second IM. I completed St George in 2010. I see the bike course is up in the air but does anyone have the run profile?

Yowser, that's jacket does stink.  I was so bummed I had to fly out Monday morning so I bought the TYR/CDA black jacket instead.

Hmm... Any idea how much an embroidery place would charge to trace over that ugly thing? If it's like $20 I'd probably do it. And then get rid of the Ford logo

Wow....what odd placement for some crappy graphics.  They really did just slap this thing together, didnt they.

I'm tempted to return mine when it gets here, order the blank Kswiss jacket, and just have a local shop embroider the logo and "finisher" on the back.

Yeah, mine is going back either way but I'm going to try to pressure them into providing what they told me it would be.  It's really pathetic.  It looks like they took about 10 seconds to iron on the logo.  If you are a woman with long hair you'd never even see it.

I'm actually hoping it is just an iron-on and I can use the iron/paper/peel technique to pull them off, then just take it and get what I want embroidered on it.

Got mine yesterday.  I'm just gonna return it.  Have the one I bought at IMFL2010 which has the very nice embroidery, distances, dates, etc.

Don't quite understand why they lowered the quality to such an extreme level.

My guess...more profit.

I am still waiting for a return email (going on 2 days now).  Mine is going back either way but I want to know why as well.

I don't blame y'all on those jackets. So glad I didn't go in for one of those. In general, I thought the finisher gear was crap because they had gone "generic" to IM finish--and well, for many of us, we associate with the SPECIFIC race we did.  Hopefully enough people like you will return stuff and complain and they make less money than previously that they realize people don't just want "Ironman Finisher" they want "IMCdA" "IMAZ" "IMFL" "IMLP" etc...not just "IM".  On the other hand, it did help me maintain my spending discipline.

Here is the response I got from the Ironman store:

"We apologize for all the confusion. The jacket that was embroidered and had the Finisher and date was the 2010 jacket. We changed the design for 2011.

Thanks for your continued interest and support of Ironman!"

Wow.  No kidding you changed it.  What a lack of customer service...

Told her I want to return it and that they should pick up return shipping as they sold me the wrong product.  Also told here there would be several other returns heading her way.  No wonder WTC gets a bad rap

Well mine is on the way back.  The rep actually told me I "misunderstood" the description.  WTF?  No the only misunderstanding was between you and your salespeople.  It was really non apologetic...

I was never one to jump on the "WTC sucks" bandwagon but this customer service experience shows me they are doing everything possible to maximize that bottom line w/o regard to what it's doing to the brand/experience.

I just received my jacket today. I'm going to keep it, but it definitely isn't quite as nicely decorated as advertised. My 6-year-old son overheard my wife and I talking about it and from his mouth: "They told you it would look exactly the same except be black."

Misunderstanding? They told us so clearly what we were SUPPOSED to be getting that even my first-grader understood! How lame.

The Coeur d'Alene "sticker" was put in a really odd place and is VERY small. And I definitely would have liked if they had the distances.

...per some prior posts...I grabbed a large MDot shirt with the names of all of the participants.  Given all the other CDA stuff I have (first IM...a little overkill on my part), if anyone is interested - I'm willing to part with it. Washed, never worn...Cam

Wow, that jacket sucks. Haven't received mine yet but looks like it'll be going right back. Bummer on account of it being my first IM. I guess we know the real reason they didn't have them in CdA - they're so crappy no one would have bought them.

I wrote Andrew Messick, the president of WTC about a week or so ago.  Within the hour I received a personalized email back stating that we would look into the matter.  I followed up yesterday and he was in Europe but promised he had not forgotten.

I'd suggest sending it back with a note.  If anyone else wants to write Andrew Messick to express your opinion, his email is [email protected]

Will keep you updated.
