Pre-race routine:

not much, just tried to get there on time, get checked in and get my body markings. had a pb&j for breakfast.
Event warmup:

none really. the race started with the elites and relay racers at 6:30am. my bunch didn't start till 8am so there was a lot of sitting and waiting
Swim
  • 16m 12s
  • 328 yards
  • 04m 56s / 100 yards
Comments:

I really did much better this year than last year. Shaved 3 mins off last year.
What would you do differently?:

not much
Transition 1
  • 11m 48s
Comments:

I planned on taking my time in transitions. It was so hot I just wanted to recover and eat/drink whatever I needed before moving on.
What would you do differently?:

not much
Bike
  • 1h 09m 42s
  • 11 miles
  • 9.47 mile/hr
Comments:

It was a good ride. I think the new, lighter bike helped. I didn't get a time for last years ride so I don't know if I did better or not. I walked the bike up 2 hills but all in all I enjoyed it and feel good about my time.
Transition 2
  • 09m 5s
Comments:

Again, not in a hurry. I ate a PB&J and just took my time.
Run
  • 1h 04m 41s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 20m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

By this time it was getting really hot. I tried the run/walk thing and it just didn't work. Around 1 mile I just decided to walk it. I felt fine when walking but wasted when running. It was a good decision even though I knew it would ruin my time.
