I was having a great season, had my best 70.3 end of April, then was diagnosed with Lyme's disease (deer tick bite from riding my tri bike on the road) which effected both knees as the both swelled up but my left more. I kept training and hurt my left knee so I had it scoped in June with two meniscus tears, plica removed, couple other things cleaned up.

Knee is doing much better. I have been swimming & clycling since mid June and started running about 5 weeks ago. I have IMFL in 88 days.

I'm still on two antibiotics and will be for another minimum 2 months Lymes.

I am better and improving. I'm not back to where I was in April but getting closer.

No, but there's a fetus hanging out in me that's seriously cramping my s/b/r ing

Just keep talking about it... they absorb that stuff!

Of course a few years down the road, after following in your footsteps, it'll be ... "mom!  I need $$$ for a tri bike" Tongue out

Went down on the bike over some railroad tracks (or, rather, went off the road ONTO said tracks).  Put a lovely fracture in my arm, I'm out for Lake Stevens this weekend.

On the plus side, banged/bruised knee finally healed and at least I can run again.

That's pretty scary that a small bug can mess things up so much.  At least you have plenty of time to IMFL and I'm sure you'll do well.

I feel like it has been ages since I have been on here.  I can't say that my injury was painful, but I was taken off exercising for the last 5+ months.  It has put me back to feeling like a newbie!!!  I have had an MRI, Ultrasound/doplar of the veins, x rays and more with no conclusion...just a super swollen foot that doesnt fit in any shoes.  I am the master of the flip flop!  Now I traded the flip flops for compression socks 24-7.

I suffered some big bad overuse injuries after my first serious season of triathlons--piriformis, sijoint/back pain, hip bursistis, ITBS, etc.  My injuries kept me out for almost 3 years (with me trying EVERTHING to get better!).  Not only physically painful, but emotionally painful as well!  awful! awful! awful experience.

But FINALLY, my major injuries are under control.  I'm still not pain free, but as long as I keep things moderate I've been able to s/b/r since this spring.  YAY!!

Right hamstring strain 2 weeks ago that has stopped my running and cycling. Tried to run and ride through it for a few days but it was not healing. Went to PT and they side-lined me.

My own fault as I have not been injured for almost a year and then did four out of my five run days two weeks ago as speed days (yeah, I'm an idiot!).

I have an Ultra on NOV 21st so I am trying to play by the PT rules very closely. They tell me it should not take more than 4 to 6 weeks to get back to normal.

Fingers crossed.

Stress fracture in foot.  Its been 10 weeks and I'm finally doing some running on treadmill.  Was limited to swallowing my pride and aquajogging (when no one was looking).

Wow.. I knew about the ITBS, the PF, the Achillies issues and all the possible knee problems... but no one told me that could happen from tri training!?!?!?!

seriously though... put me down for the achillies and ITBS support groups.

Left knee scoped last thursday - I've been to PT once and they were amazed at my recovery so far.  Swelling is way down, I lost very little strength in my legs. She said at 3" above the knee I lhad a difference of .5" and at 6" mark, 1"  She said that was good to better than normal.  I also said that my right leg is significanlty stronger and a little bigger due to my snowboard (I am directional and use my back leg (right) more than the left)  My flex was 0 degrees to 125 degrees.  I think my PT will let me get on the bike (trainer at least) this week and start swimming again next week when the stitches come out.

The Hyannis tri in a month may be a pipe dream, unless I do it as a team and have my wife do the run.  But I s/b OK for an xterra in October and definitely ready for Snowboarding season the beginning of November.

For full disclosure - I am sitting at work w/ my cryocuff on.
