Subject: Timex watchband...
I've got a Timex Ironman OVA 75-lap, and the band is breaking. I used to have a link for buying the more obscure Timex bands, but have since lost it. I did a Yahoo search and came up empty (unless I want to buy a new watch... duh!).

Any ideas?

I've about had it with anything but the most basic, cheap watch...

THis is the one I have...

Tried that one. Nada. Thanks, though.

Can you post a pic of it?  I used to be a parachute rigger and made stuff like watch bands all the time.  I can make a new band out of  nylon webbing and velcro if that will work for you.  I've made several for my old style ironman watches.

Link in the OP shows the watch. Unfortunately, this is one type that will pretty much only accept the original band.

There might be a part number on the back of the watch band.  Sometimes there is and you can type it in to find a new one.  Also second calling Timex.

OK saw your model.  Yeah I hate that type.  Hard to replace.  If nothing else, you can remove old strap by cutting away as much as possible and then gluing a new band on with some serious adhesive, like aquaseal.  Not very elegant, but it would work.  Once the battery is gone, your done, but it'd work until then!

Oh no...bad memories. I had that watch and had to replace the band three times! Each time costing me 8 bucks. I really loved the watch and design, but the resin band they use is cheap as hell. Just normal wear and tear, it never lasted more than a few months. After the third time, I said enough is enough.

X3.  I did the same thing.  Sent the watch and $10 to Timex and got a replacement watch back in the mail.
