skarl - 2010-11-12 9:51 PM I don't understand this bacon fascination thing.  The grease is nauseating and the nitrites are toxic.

eta: nitrite-free bacon w/o fat is tasty w/ maple syrup....

x2, glad I am not the only one...

Greasy and fried food upsets my stomach. I guess I have associated the smell and taste of bacon with feeling like poo. Red meat does the same for me.

Now sugar is a whole other story, ha ha I can always tell when I am experiencing withdrawls -when I start dreaming of little debbie cakes and smelling warm sugar out of nowhere...

crap, can't get either the link or the picture to work.  Recommend just do a search for "bacon beer mug with cheese".  Then you'll find the top of the bacon pyramid.

Is delicious!.... but NOT the best pre-workout fueling choice for a high intensity workout....

TIA

Reminds me of my impromptu cheese + hill workout experiment. Brain says "this is not a good idea" but my belly says "send 'er down! om nom nom." Belly always wins but brain is always right.

Also, I'm so glad I just ate bacon because otherwise this thread would make me need bacon. Yes, need!

By no means.

Actually, I like bacon just fine.  But I also like my current 31" waistline...definitely more than the 40" one I had in the days before giving up no-win foods like bacon and french fries.  These days, bacon (and hot dog) fixes are of the turkey-constituted kind.

My local meat market was out of bacon today!  C'mon man, that's like Pizza Hut running out of Pizza.

I think bacon is awesome but we are trying to eat more locally and healthfully...

SO, we found a local Amish farm from which we are getting a half a pig, including nitrate free, Amish-raised, freshly smoked BACON.   mmmm, I can't wait.

My friend tried to smoke bacon once but the grease smeared up his bong so he dumped out and fried it like a man.
