http://www.setupevents.com/?fuseaction=events&series=MTS. I've liked the race I did with them, well run and AFFORDABLE!!! Quick glance through the new MD series and it looks like they have some interesting races...and one sprint right in the city at Druid Hill! Not sure if any will fit into my schedule this year, but I'm excited that they'll be doing races here in the future.

SetUp puts on a good race IMHO too.  This is good to see (a little competition with my favorite local race organizer).

Plus Joe, if we do every race in the MD series (next year), then it's more of a BT championship anyway.

Its on! I may be on a " LVQing" run next year though...

Josh, you do realize a "series" usually consists of more than 2 races a season.

I knew that was coming.  If the series was my goal for the year, instead of one big race, you would see a different racing philosophy from me.

Now for some brutal honesty... if I would show up to race season in shape, instead of having to get back in shape every year, I would race much more as well.  Unfortunately, when you are rebuilding your base, I feel that racing really does get in the way.

That Druid Hill Race looks interesting...I was wondering where they were going to do the swim, in the reservoir?  It'll be interesting to see how they set up the bike leg.

Probably not going to fit into my schedule because I have an Olympic "A" the following weekend, but looks like a great race for beginners.

The Druid Hill swim is a serpentine swim in a pool.

Josh is a former teacher so he knows how to share information with confidence giving it an "air" of credibility.

In all sincerity, Josh gives very good advice and gives you the theory/thinking behind his advice so you are informed. You should be able to read what he offers and determine if it is applicable to your situation.
He has helped me with my 50K training plan and I have high hopes for my race.

Rock Hall?  I live in Rock Hall.  They were turned down for their permits.  A whole article about it in the local paper.  A local RD complained that if local people are turned down for permits, then out of state RD's should be also.

You know what they say about teachers....

In all seriousness, his advice has been fantastic. It was just a little elbow jab and *wink* *wink* sarcasm.

weird....most of these that are in and around Maryland only have a few people registered....but then you see the one in Dewey Beach DE...and it already has 410 people signed up (9/17/2011 race date).  I'm guessing this is a popular race?

Does being turned down for their permits mean that the race won't happen? I was just going to register.

Also - generally, Does setup events use the same shirts for all their races?

I did Giant Acorn last year, so I know what I got there; but can't find any info on their website for what kind of shirt they'll be giving out. I don't care hugely, but wasn't sure how to answer the question about what size. That depends on what kind of shirt! Men's v women's specific & tech v cotton. At least 3 different sizes could be right depending on what kind of shirt it is.
