Comments: Smoked it. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: I could have gone faster, but it's ok. My bike was in rack 23, so I had a fair way to run. I was scared of slipping in the mud! What would you do differently?: Not a lot, it was ok. Bike
Comments: Straight out of transition into a hill, was gross. The velco on my left shoe came out of it's hole, so I had to do the first hill without the shoe done up, and spend some time threading it back through while I was riding. Good thing though, I did use the areo bars a little, and I did manage to stick to my nutrition plan. the massive hill sucked balls though. although I did go really fast back down it on the other side :) It started to rain 5km from the end of the ride. I feel down 2.5km from the end of the ride, so I just went the rest of the way with my feet out of the shoes. I am covered in scratches. Didn't tear my suit though, so that was nice. What would you do differently?: I just needed no wind. Transition 2
Comments: I had to sit down to put my shoes on. By now, my arse hurt, my legs hurt, and I just hurt overall. I put my number on, grabbed my puffer, and I was out. What would you do differently?: Not sit down!! Run
Comments: Could have been a drink station right out of transition. If I had have known there wasn't, I would have stopped to have a drink in transition. I ran the whole way, so that's all that matters!!! What would you do differently?: I do need to get faster, but the only time I walked was through aid stations, so I reckon I'm a bit of a rockstar right now. Post race
Warm down: I walked around all afternoon and watch the pros. Sunburned :( What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind. Rain. Overall slowness ;) I came 36/47, but I had the slowest time. So all the people behind me did not finish. And the two girls that finished in front of me passed me only after 7km on the run. So if I can nail the run, I will be all good. Event comments: Even though the events on Saturday were cancelled, I think they handled things pretty well. I think they needed more drink stations around the place, especially for the hacks like me. I struggled the 2.5km between each drink station. Last updated: 2011-01-09 12:00 AM

We walked down from the hotel to transition, racked the bikes and set up.
Just a paddle in the water. I was ready!
