Subject: RE: MarQuee Half trainng ride - 3/6 Sorry to hear about the flat Lisa (that explains why we did not see you along the way!). Steve got a flat on the 2nd loop return, right about at the McDowell and Beeline intersection (luckily the front so a quick repair). I am up for another go-round in 2 weeks, and Saturday is good for me also. Steve just about killed me at the pace we managed (we averaged 18.7 for the entire distance), and I doubt I will hold that speed during MarQuee, as I would be dead on the run. Something around 15-16 would be perfectly ok with me. Knowing that the uphill grade from AZ canal to Shea is not on the MarQuee course made me feel much better about the event ride, as the rest seemed manageable at a fairly consistent pace. I wanted to hang out and see everyone come in, but had to get home for some family pictures (my better half would have killed me if I was late). Let's plan on the weekend on March 19-20 for a final gear-up for MarQuee! Again, it was great to meet fellow triathletes, I always feel like a loner at events as I know so few people who are into the sport. Patrick |
