Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 2:45am! Ate 2 waffles with PB and a yogurt. Left the hotel at 3:15 to get to Epcot. No traffic issues, but made a wrong turn and had to turn around. Parked, had to walk to start line. Ate a banana and had a Gu approx 45 min prior to start. Very humid out.

Comments:

Felt really good. First 3 miles were an 8:53 pace which felt too fast. Unbeknownst to me, my stopwatch was full, no no data beyond that was saved. Ran thru water stops, which I normally walk (and walk the last 2) and got lots of water up my nose. Fortunately no cramps! Ate a shot blox every 2 miles, had a Gu around mile 7. Lots of photo ops with the Disney characters, but didn't stop, just wanted to break 2 hours!
What would you do differently?:

Not much, other than go a tiny bit faster--couldn't cut the 2-hr mark any closer!
Post race
Warm down:

It was sunny, 80's. Stretched while waiting for the other gals to finish. Ate a grilled chx sandwich from Wendy's on the way back to the hotel, then went into the 'cold' pool to soak legs for approx 1/2 hr.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I'm a slow runner! Interval training has seemed to help, at least at the shorter 1/2 distance. Need to get some more long runs in before the GB Marathon in May

Event comments:

Post race there were only oranges, bananas, granola bars, and maybe muffins? Not a huge variety. Once you left the finish area, there was nowhere to get water...I had to wait almost 3 hours for the other gals to finsh so that was a bummer.

If you ran a sub-2-hour half marathon, you are no longer allowed to say "I'm a slow runner."

Congrats!!!
