I'm running in place of Kate since she's going to SLO, CA for the weekend.  I've trained haphazardly- so this'll be fun.  Remember, pal, I run like a swimmer

She gets a bonus if she brings back some Edna Valley Chardonnay Cool

Wavedog mentioned something about finish-line PBRs, that should be good motivation!

Weather report is calling for rain and cool temps. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are wrong.

Ugh, I really hope that weather report is wrong.  The last 4 races I've done have been in the rain. Enough already!

Sorry guys if I'm the reason (curse?) for the rain....

I'm convinced our spring weather is bipolar, the 5-day forecast now shows just partly cloudy...

Make that "an" Xterra.  Proofreading works wonders if you do it in time.

Ugh, I noticed the wind was flying out of the north which meant a 13 mile headwind.

Nah, the wind wasn't really bad.  It was definitely windy, but it never felt like a full on headwind.  More of a crosswind really.  And even a tailwind up the hill at mile 12!

It was actually pretty calm at the start, and just gusty at times on the course.  never really felt like there was a headwind to speak of...

It definitely demotivated me.  See my race report on my less-than-stellar performance.  Steve was wicked fast yesterday, I think the wind kicked up for us slow-pokes

I'll agree to that...winds seemed kind of constant but not that bad for me until miles 9ish thur 12ish and the headwind was killer!

Was it just me or was the line for food a little bit crazy!?

I agree the food line was ridiculous, thankfully Team PBR made it tolerable.  Thanks WaveDog!

I must say I was very impressed with this race and it has to be one of the best value races out there. $45 for a half with a Brooks long sleeve tech tee, awesome! I agree with most about the wind consistent but not too bad until the last few miles.

Thank goodness that weather moved in early and we didn't get wet!

I thought the wind was really bad at times. Of course I was bringing up the back end.

Pabst Blue Ribbon, Milwaukee's Finest...I don't usually drink fizzy yellow beer, but it sure tasted good and right!
