Phillyrivercast showed the temp at 77 this morning, and 79 now.  Where did they end for the official temp?  Wetsuits allowed for competition?

Will the decision be made again tomorrow for the Oly?

Wetsuits were allowed. The water was warm but I wore mine. They make the call well before the transition area closes. If I were to guess, I'd guess that since tonight is supposed to be cool it will be wetsuit legal. It was really great weather for the event, but the sun was beating down good on the out part of the run. Tomorrow should be great.

The Sprint race went off spectacularly.  I managed a 5th place finish in my AG (M30-34) and am pleased as punch with that.  If I hadn't messed up my bike mount and lost about 30 seconds I would have had the fastest bike split in my AG.  Oh well, live and learn and practice the damn shoes-on-bike mount a little more.

Good Luck to everyone racing today (starting in 40 minutes!).  I'm headed down to watch the festivities soon.

Good for you! It was a really well-run event. Except for the potholes coming down the ramp back onto MLK I though the bike course was a lot of fun.

I am such a slow swimmer that someone in the wave behind me plowed into me. We both had to stop and make sure each other were OK. Really nice sportsmanship, whoever he was.

I finished exactly MOP (32/64) in my AG. It took me 28:10 to do the swim. At first I thought I had a pink cap so it would be easy for people to spot who to point and laugh at.

Missed the wetsuit cutoff by .3 degrees. 78.3 degrees was the official temp this morning, so they went with no wetsuits. Fine by me, but I tried it with a tri top, that was a little big. I thought I had swam with it before, bu it felt like it was billowing in the water. That and a goggle was leaking at the beginning, so I didn't get off to a good start.Felt like I was constantly passing people on the bike, guess that comes with being in nearly the last wave!Overall, a good day for me, took 13th in my AG, for my first Oly, can't complain about that!

Nice job! Maybe you lost a little weight in the last couple weeks? Definitely not uncommon. Sounds like you had a pretty fun Sunday.

Nice Job, and hey,,,,I'll trade my 34:10 swim for your 28 minutes any day!..lol.

But any non suit swim that's 1500 is an accomplishment for me just complete!

Managed 47th of 134 in group with a 2:39 time so it was fun.

What a terrrific bike course! Thats the reason I went to this one and it was really worth it. My goal of breaking 2:30 was over for me as soon as i had to leave the suit in the car.

I refused to do the wetsuit wave and would much rather have my 34 minutes and just KNOW i suck at swimming...Laughing

Anyone know if they did awards for the aquabikers? I almost changed to aquabike as I've been having knee issues while running (IT Band). I managed to run at my regular slow 8:40 pace (in the Sprint) which I was happy with, but out of curiosity I looked at the aquabike results and it looks like I would have finished 2nd (out of a whopping 10) with my swim, T1 and bike splits.

Hey I swam in the Schuylkill again yesterday AND ENJOYED IT. Thought I wouldn't be saying that again this year Thanks Philly Tri club for hosting that! Love those frog buoys.
