The talent pool seems to be getting deeper. I am still struggling to go past Spartacus, but Ballan seems to be in good form and you should never discount Boonen. Having said that Boonen's move in Flanders was amaturish and displayed a lack in confidence of his team and his DS. I suspect that he will left wanting...

Garmin have a few to choose from - Hushovd, Farrar, Haussler and Bjarne Riis could pull another rabbit from his hat a la Flanders...

Goss from HTC is in pretty good form coming off a big win in MSR and his efforts in Flanders may have been better if it weren't for the remnants of the flu that he is getting over.

For mine:

1. Spartaucs

2. Ballan

3. Haussler

So, who's it going to be standing on the dias holding the famed cobble??

Im on a bit of a Garmin hating streak so i wont pick any of them,

As far as im concerned spartacus won flanders and will make a smarter move in robaix, he was trying to show off at flanders and got caught, he wont mess up like that sunday.

Spartacus

Gilbert

Ballan (cause bmc is awesome for chasing down spartacus)

Boonen

Lars Boom

Chavanel seems to be the guy for quickstep right now, but didn't do Roubaix last year. From the highlights I watched of Flanders, it looked like Boonen was playing decoy. Whether that will be the case at Roubaix, I dunno. That being said:

Cancellara

Chavanel

Hushovd

Leukemans

Only betting against Spartacus to keep it interesting.....still can't believe that teams cannot nuetralize his attacks.

I am gambling that Sky and Quickstep will work together to get to the podium.

Boonen
Flecha
Chavanel
Thomas

Closing will be Cancellara, Gilbert, and Pozzato.

Love the classics!

I want Hincapie to finally win his favorite race.  No ditches, handlebars breaking, or trains!

If I had to bet money, I woudl put it on Boonen.

I do hope for rain.  That always makes for a fun race to watch.

I'd love to see Big George fianlly win this race. He is a true classics rider...

I thought that we were due for a wet race this year but the weather forecast is for fine, sunny conditions. Stuey O'Grady weather, if Spartacus is not up for it...

I've got a couple Paris-Roubaixs DVD's from early 2000's and one of them was done on a perfectly clear day.  It was a mess, there were more wrecks than on the wet sloppy days, guys were on the rivet all day and taking serious chances.  So while not the fun mudfest it could make for some interesting riding.

Why the heck isn't Hesjedal racing? So sad.

Never a punter to back the odds on favorite (probably why I always lose $$) I'll go with:

Hushovd

Ballan

Boom (because I like to say his name)

Sparticus will be forced out with a mechanical when his motor is dislodged on the Paves.

This is a very cool page that breaks down P-R secteur-by-secteur with pictures. The Arenberg Trench and the Carrefour de l'Arbre made me cringe just to look.

Hushovd

Cancellara

Goss

Boonen

Flecha

Yeah, and he's doing great. I guess I meant, why wasn't Paris Roubaix one of Ryder's targeted races this year.

Having been a pro mtb'er, you'd expect to see Hejsdahl lining up for Paris-Roubaix.
