Subject: RE: Things I learned on my first Bike ride (crash) of the seasontotally agree w your suggestions...similar thing happened to me on a test ride... went to the bike shop to check out a new mountain bike, they casually said "take it for a spin around the block"....forgot my helmet. made it around the "block" no problems, but after coming back in the store, they urged me to take it out for a longer spin....luckily I put my helmet on. figured I'd give it a bit more of a "test" and rode a bit harder...unfortunately a curb jumped out at me and I slammed really hard onto my head. bloody knee, and ground up palms (no gloves). bike didn't suffer much except a little scratch. hanging my head, I quietly walked into the bike shop...blood dripping from leg and hands. told them I crashed it, and they quickly said, "well now you got that out of the way, go for another spin!" which I did...with gloves. the helmet saved me from serious injury for sure, gloves would've prevented the hand abrasions which took a month or more to heal up completely. btw, bought the bike ..... |
