Run
Comments: started out about mid pack at the starting line and took forever to get to the line itself. starters horn was barely audible so just went with the crowd. ran with Ben Scharff and plan was to keep it comfy at about 85-90% effort. hit stride at about the four mile mark and just went with it and maintained pace the rest of the way. took gel at about 10 mins before start and then again at just past the 5 mile mark. hit the turnaround and started to run people down one by one without losing sight of the reason for this event which was to go at about 85-90% effort. ended up in 14th place (by my count, "official" results are totally screwed up. first place female started out front at the start, finished behind me and in the results she beat me by a minute?!?!?!) did set a new PR at this distance tho by 48 seconds so i am pleased. have had a big buildup that included two 100+ mile weeks and a 325 mile month, all with the eye on the boston marathon. so things are looking good, no, great!!! What would you do differently?: nothing. this was just peachy!!!! Post race
Warm down: crossed the finish line, gave them my tag, turned and pet a saint bernard and then went back out on the course and cheered in my teammates! What limited your ability to perform faster: boston on the horizon! Event comments: 15 bucks for walk up registration so im not gonna knitpick at all. perfect event to kick off the season!
