How trail is the Medoc? I see they have a 10mi race as well. Is it alot of single track where you will need trail shoes or is it similar to running on the Bridle path at Umstead.

I've only been there once, and it was in the early-mid '90s.  I seem to recall it being kind of between single-track and bridle trails as for terrain.  Here's a good page for reference:

I think it would be a hoot no matter the distance.  I love the woods.
