go on westeros.org they have maps that make actual maps of the world look pathetic (those guys are nuts... for example, there are pictures of their children named Sansa, Brynden, Tyrion, etc...  but its very helpful for filling in the details about the books.)

Just finished Feast of Crows, now I'm getting on my Palfrey to seek out the next book.

Season two of HBOs Game of Thrones  has a lot of new faces.

I just watched the first two episodes of season 1. My first impression was how perfectly the producers picked the cast of children. Arya, Joffrey, and Brandon are EXACTLY how I imagined them.

I have yet to read books 2-5 (just started Game of Thrones before school, not a whole lot of time)

Just made is through page 700 in A Storm of Swords and I'm totally bummed out now. I don't want to spoil anything, but for those of you that have read the books, I just wanted to say how much that sucked to read.

It looks like in season two we will see Robb Starks new wife Jeyne Westerling?

I saw that too. I guess the series will cover his battle/wounding/courtship of her, which the book left out since he wasn't a guy who had his own chapter.

Just finished A Dance with Dragons.  A lot of storylines to think about.   I wonder how far HBO will go in this story.  Will each book be a season?

First look at season 2 (clash of kings) is up on HBO.com.... 1 minute teaser. They also wrapped filming of the beyond the wall scenes in Ireland. March is soooo long away. May have to start rereading the series again as we'll as the dunk and egg books.

I'm trying to pace myself.  I didn't want to start #2 till a few months went by since season 1 ended.  So I started recently.  Too bad I'm 200+ pages into it - poor pacing!

I found the Hedge Knight at my local library.  Kinda in the format of a glossy illustrated comic book..  Was very good.

Trying to find the other two that Martin has done.  The Sworn Sword and  The Mystery Knight.  (All are part of the Dunk and Egg story line)- And if I understand... this all happens about 100 years before Fire and Ice?????

Correct - about 75 years prior to AGOT. If you have made it to Feast for Crows you know who egg is.

You have 3 books ahead of you at least.... Story is too good to pace, particularly Storm of Swords

Just finished watching Season One in one fell swoop (read all the books that way too) and I must say ... I have the biggest crush on Petyr Baelish.

He was my favorite bad guy in the books, too.

Really? I kept reading waiting for him to die badly. In the end I came to like Jaime and the hound.

Well ... Jaime and the Hound wound up exercising some redeeming qualities.

At my worst, I am exactly what Petyr Baelish is like. I kind of admire that he's willing to utterly and unapologetically be that way and take it all the way. He's probably also the most brilliant of the characters in terms of strategy and manipulation. Very sophisticated. Nobody in the books consistently, and throughout the books, makes out as well as he does. He gets everything he wants along the way, and he does it by cunning.

I also think Aidan Gillen is ridiculously hot and perfectly suited to play Baelish. Sssssmokin'.

So, finished a dance with dragons on vacation.   It was definitely better than book 4, and I guess I now have a long wait for 6.  I found 5 to end a little anticlimactically, and there are way too many storylines at the expense of others.  Feels like there are characters I haven't read about since book 4....  Every time I came to a new chapter I'd have to stop and try to remember where this arc left off.  I thought 5 would tie things together a little better.

Looking forward to season 2, as I think book two was my favorite, followed by three (or maybe the other way around, frankly they all blend together)

I felt the same way but book 3 was my stand out fav. I went and read some blogs about the books and I guess Martin said something about it might take more than two books to finish up the story. I'm just hoping that now with the TV series and the fan base he will be able to knock the books out rather than waiting 6 years again.

Yeah ... I felt like with books 4 and 5, honestly, that all the "new" (or now-highlighted previously side) characters were being introduced in kind of a mad-libs style ... I kinda kept thinking, wait, I've read this before, and I pretty much had. The one exception is Reek.

Yeah, that story line is intriguing.  Also Young Griff which had (has I hope) a lot more promise than delivered.

I just remember there were probably two times in each of books 2 and 3 that I had to literraly put the kindle down and say "wow, did that just happen?????"   Nothing like that since.

Feast and dance are no where near as good as storm, but: teasers are out for season 2 of HBO, they look awesome.
