Comments:

Passed alot of people in the wave ahead of me. That made me feel good until I realized that none of them were swimming freestyle. I don't know how to relax in a race swim. I am fine in open water by myself, but with all those people...I freak out!
What would you do differently?:

Remain calm.
Transition 1
  • 00m 54s
Comments:

Best T1 yet.
What would you do differently?:

Not be so out of breath from the swim.
Bike
  • 40m 2s
  • 13.7 miles
  • 20.53 mile/hr
Comments:

Had a catch in my side at the beginning of the ride. Felt like I was going to throw up for the first 4 miles. I felt a little better for the remainder of the ride. Overall, my best ride.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more.
Transition 2
  • 00m 40s
Comments:

I always leave my helmet for last. Next time I will take it off as I am running.
Run
  • 26m 24s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt like I was going to puke for the entire run. I could not drink anything because my side hurt so bad. The run exit was wet and I stepped in mud with both feet. My feet/shoes were soaked the entire time. As a result, I developed some bilsters on the inside of my left heel and they started really hurting at mile 1.5. I really pushed the 1/2 mile and passed at least one person in my AG! Walked all 3 drink stations.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more on the bike. Take it easier on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Immmediately upon finnishing I started dry heaving. Poured some cool water on my neck and that helped.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The swim, as usual.

Congrats on a great race! I participated today as well, my first tri, and I definitely second your thoughts on the swim. The swim was the hardest part for me - took me 21 minutes to get through it! You have an excellent swim time (overall time, too), despite feeling freaked out. Way to go!

You walked all the aid stations and still did 8:30 miles?  I might have to hate you.  That's a pretty solid race, congrats.  I hate passing the non freestyle swimming folk.  Whaever stroke they seem to adopt always has them kicking their legs way out to the side and nailing your head.  Why can't they just swim normal?

Congratulations on another nice race.  How about that nasty water swim?
