Comments: My first half mary. What can I say? I had a blast. There was a light drizzle just about the entire way, but it wasn't enough to beat the humidity. It was incredibly humid even at the start of the race at 7:00. I followed my nutrition/hydration exactly as I practiced. It worked great. I did add a few more water stops due to the humidity, and it was fine - didn't throw me off at all. When asked for my goal, I told everyone 2:15 because I planned to run with that pace group. My real goal was 2:10. I finished in 2:09:30! I feel like I executed this race perfectly and am very happy with my performance. What would you do differently?: Not a thing! Post race
Warm down: Crossed the finish line and got my medal. Had more water and gatorade. Ate a banana and a smiley cookie! Found my wonderful husband who has been so supportive during my training. Last updated: 2011-01-18 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00. Fed the dog and cat and fixed myself a bagel. Got my husband up and left at 4:45. Ate a banana on the way. My husband drove and I enjoyed being a passenger for a change. Relaxed with my feet up on the dash the entire way!!
Walked about a mile from where we parked to the start line.
