I know it may be still a couple of days until 9/1, but are there any Sept Challenges in the works?

I know there is that fabulous abs challenge going on that runs through the fall, but I haven't heard any talk of the any event specific challenges.  I think if we did a september one, it would be fun to mix it up and group the teams in such a way that it inspires more competitiveness . . . age groups teams, or maybe teams by local . . . and fewer, but larger teams.  'Just a thought.  The way the teams have been for July & August has been great for building community and getting to know each other.  But I feel like we're losing some of the motivation and competitiveness.  Where is all that smack talk that fueled these challenges to begin with?

So, those are just some thoughts.  But as to a suggestion for a specific challenge, I'm open, and don't have much to add.  I'm thinking I'd like to take a break from the tri challenge, but have loved what it has done for me the past months.  Run maybe?  That definitely needs some improvement for me.  But so does the biking . . . okay, and the swimming too.  haha.

Well, that's my 2 cents.

Nice training log, Denise! Very ecclectic and fun to read.

I'm new here and am increasing my run mileage in Sept/Oct with 10K goal races in mind.
Maybe who ever's up for calling the Sept challenge will make it a running challenge?
Fall is the best season to run in New England, that's for sure.

Cheers, -Sunny

I was thinking that a cool challenge (IMHO), might be to do the same as August, but with a twist. That is, possibly lower the goals slightly, but add in a personal goal. For instance, I need to paint more, so maybe I would say to paint a certain amount per/week (notice i was too scared to say per day). Someone else it might be clean the garage, work on screenplay, resume, read a book, practice yoga, build those shelves... you get the idea. Its something that complements our workouts and is important for the balance of our lives.

Any thoughts?

Well, with Sept 1st almost done, I'll carry on with my own Sept challenges:
++build my running mileage 10% each week (by time) to get up to 1/2 marathon condition again by mid-late October
++log my diet using fitday to see what my PCF%s and daily cal needs really are
++keep learning the features of this website, esp. how to best use the training log features

Cheers and Happy September to all, -Sunny
