Age Group Rank = 3/9
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4, had a bagel with PB, coffee. Chris came to pick me up and we drove to Leamington. Got a great spot in transition, got marked. Checked the bike, laid out my stuff, etc. Wandered around until about 15 mins before event.
Event warmup:

Warmed up in the lake for about 10 mins. Made sure there would be no wetsuit malfunctions this time. Then chatted with some new girls who were terrified.
  • 14m 2s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 52s / 100 meters
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - maybe go a little harder - but the training wasn't there this year.
Transition 1
  • 00m

Couldn't get my wetsuit zipper down - so that was frustrating.
What would you do differently?:

  • 40m 1s
  • 20 kms
  • 29.99 km/hr

Drafting was occuring everywhere and people were sitting in the middle of the lane. Otherwise course was good.
Transition 2
  • 00m
  • 24m 11s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 50s  min/km

I'm not sure about the distance. I have 5.4km on my Garmin and 24.11 seems like a long time for a 5k - but it felt good and I was happy so that's all that matters.

Event comments:

I love this race - it is SO fun, the course is flat and fast and there are always so many wonderful people there!!! That's why I do it every year!

I agree with the long distance of the run course and glad it wasn't just my Garmin acting up.  I have autolap set for every 1K and I was excited that I had sub 5:00/km for my run and the official results had me at 5:13/km?  I know GPS can be a bit inaccurate but 0:20/km?

Now that I'm not the only one who was seeing this I can stop obsessing about it Laughing
