Anyone else signed up for the Tri for the Cure in Denver? If so, is it your first tri? If it's not your first how many times have you done it before?

This will be my 3rd year doing it and it is quite a fun race with lots of great support! They have swim buddies that will swim with you on the course in case you are unsure of your swimming skills (as I was). The swim buddies are so darn special...I possibly would not have attempted a triathlon if it wasn't for them being there to reassure me of what I was trying to accomplish.

I'm male so I can't participate, but I volunteer as a swim buddy every year.  Last year I escorted 2 survivors on their swims, it was a pretty cool moment for me.  I definitely like to pay it forward, and this is an incredibly well-organized event.

That is so great that you do that! I'm sure you have helped not only the survivors but also countless women began there triathlon journeys by just being there. I know I cannot thank the guys enough that helped me get through my last 2 Cure races. They were both named "Matt" that's all I remember.

This year I will be swimming on my own with no buddies!

I just realized that you're name is Matt...you may have been one of the guys that helped me!

If so, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, and it's still not enough. Smile

Well thank you- not sure if it was me or not, but it's my pleasure!  This is a personal appeal to anyone who is an experienced swimmer- these women are courageous, and if you have time on the 8th, consider volunteering.  As you can see, they are thankful for the efforts we put forth.  It's fun too!

Matt
