Swim
  • 39m 35s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

Pretty large group of 100 took a while to thin out. I feel slow in the tri top. Lost some mental focus on form several times.
What would you do differently?:

Lose the top and concentrate.
Transition 1
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Crowded mount line due to narrow size and people stopping to mount. Ran past several people to find space to jump on.
Bike
  • 1h 24m 40s
  • 27.1 miles
  • 19.20 mile/hr
Comments:

Could have gone a little faster but tried to hold back a little to have a stronger run. Some wet corners were a little concerning too.

My Perpetuum did not sit well and wish I had just taken water. The water hand off station at mile 14 was pretty weak and didn't see the one woman with one bottle when I passed. Dang.
What would you do differently?:

Stick with water on this distance
Transition 2
  • 01m 38s
Run
  • 55m 18s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Nice that they gave out sponges as the temp was up to 75-80 by then.

Event comments:

Good local race. Didn't do as well in my age group as last year's race since the number increased from 4 to 15 guys from all over NC. Guess its become pretty popular in year 2.

Great work out there!

Smart holding back a little on the bike to save it for the run.
