Pre-race routine:

i ate a power bar and drove over to the race. it was a really nice morning!
Event warmup:

the cirque du soleil performers led a warmup, so i did some of that. for the most part i did my usual minimal stretching.

Comments:

as usual, this was a pleasant little run. i beat my time from last year by 1:27 and my pace last year was 8:45, so i was pleased. my miles were: 8.27, 8.33 and 8.11.
What would you do differently?:

probably pace myself a little better. there were times that my pace was less than a 7:30 mile.
Post race
Warm down:

drank two naked juices and two bottles of water. i visited with some people i knew and hung out. they had a raffle for some great things, but i didn't win anything.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

running too fast in the beginning. i was bent on beating last year's time.

Event comments:

i really like this race. it's a fundraiser for the agency i used to work for and this is the third year i've done it. plus, the cirque du soleil performers play with the crowd and it's just a lot of fun!

You beat your time by ALOT from last year..I wish I could shave a minute and a half off my 5k time.  that's great!
