Who's in?  Who's done it?  Whaddya think?

I'm thinking about it, but not sure I can do the distance on the run.  The swim is the same as the Oly, which I know I can handle, and I've done the bike route a coupla times, so I'm fine, there, but a half marathon just flat out scares me.

There's a shorter race which is kind of a long Oly...I think it's 0.9 swim, 32 bike, and 6.7 run.  It's supposed to add up to 40 so my math isn't quite right, but that might be an option.

I did the swim in the relay last year and I'm doing it again this year.  I enjoyed it.

Nah, if I'm in for a dime, in for a dollar - not doing a halfway half full.  And I run 8 miles this morning, and it seemed easy enough, if terribly slow.  If I manage to do the full run, even once, in practice, without dying, I'll sign up for it.  If I manage it before the race fills up and closes.

jmhpsu93, I'll see you at Northeast!

Did it last year. Well run event, top notch as far as logistics.

Course: It would be considered a very hilly course by Tri standards. Challenging course for bike and run.  The swim is centennial lake, wet suit legal last year.

I'd do it again but letting my tendinitis heal up.

Anybody, local to the race, training for it?  Looking for a riding partner, or group.

I did the swim/bike last year, great race.  The bike will be slightly different this year due to some road construction.  The run is a bit hilly, might want to run one loop of it to get an idea if the half scares you.

It's getting close to full so you probably need to sign up soon.

It's official. I'm in for the half full olympic.

it was last year and I can't imagine by the first weekend in October that it wouldn't be this year.  Those cool nights in Sept should bring the lake down into the low 70's by then.

Lake temp was 64 last year. Not even a close call.

I am heading out to rack the bike now.  Going to be cold tomorrow.  It has been so long since I've ridden in the cold, I am not sure what to wear!! Last time was in March.  It was 45 and I forgot my gloves.  They were stinging in 15 minutes and bright red by the time I got to work.  Bringing the gloves, leg and arm warmers.  Hope that is enough.  Not sure what to wear as a shirt.

Good luck out there!

Thanks for the laugh.  Guess I should have said water quality testing   Sounds like it failed Friday, but we were good to go today.  I've been out of the water for 2 hours and haven't gotten sick.  Guess i'm ok.

Awesome, awesome race!!!  My first HIM - big fun.  I've nothing to compare it to, but the crowds of onlookers were great, the organization was terrific, cops were everywhere, directing the flow of traffic for us, burgers, beer, brats, muscle milk and massages afterwards...couldn't have asked for more.  A great time.

I left too much out there on the run - not sure what I was saving it for, but when I was nearly done, I had the energy to sprint, and felt like I could have done another loop.  And when I looked at my abysmal run pace, I knew why.  So that's what I'll have to work on, next time.

Not nearly as sore as expected, today.

So much fun.

I was there marshalling like a marshmellow at the Royal Farms traffic circle.  There was a lot going on there! Sorry if I wasn't able to cheer so much, I had cars coming from the right and straight and was trying to herd them along!  Even with the cop there, its amazing how rude people were. One woman yelled "shut up!" out the window to the officer.

I commend you all, that was a TOUGH day to race!

i am amazed at the behavior of people when they are in their cars. Its like when folks get behind the wheel there is some sort of anonymity and there will be no consequences so I can just fly off the handle if I see something I dont like.

Where in the world could you be going that is so important on a Saturday that you have to put lives in danger to get there faster? And then to yell at a cop??   amazing

Thanks for Marshmallowing Turtlegirl

She actually yelled "shut up" to a cop?! YEESH! (doubly glad I said thank you when I passed Smile). I felt badly for all of y'all, bc it must've felt so much more miserable to be still. At least we were moving! Thanks so much for what you did.

My experience riding in that area is that drivers in HoCo around the park are generally less intolerant than drivers here in MoCo, but there are always exceptions. Running along - whatever that road was - there was a really long line of cars held up because of us, some looking more unhappy than others, so we started waving and smiling as we ran past, yelling thanks when the windows were down. Lots of changes in facial expressions with that. No excuses for bad behavior, but I also think that those of us racing can sometimes help to ease tensions...though you're never going to appease some people....
