Comments:

Not a bad tranny.

  • 24.85 miles
  • 14.72 mile/hr
Comments:

Holy hills!!! I hadn't trained on the bike much prior to this race and this course was hilly! And not the rolling hills, either. No no -- it was those short, steep little that your up. You know what I mean. And it wasn't just a couple, it was NON-STOP! I think I peed a little a couple times between sobs.
What would you do differently?:

Train on some hills occasionally.
Transition 2
  • 01m 57s
Comments:

Not bad. I just was happy to be off those hills.
Run
  • 55m 23s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Oh my god are you SERIOUS!? MORE HILLS!? OK so this course was like a mean joke you'd play on someone. Or something you make people run as a punishment. It was two 5K loops. The first 3K is all peaches and puppies breath. The last 2K is like rotten peaches and getting your face bit off by a Rottie. And it was muddy! MUDDY! What the ? No, seriously, WTF is that???
Post race
Warm down:

Curled into a ball and lay just past the finish line in the fetal position, sucking my thumb.

Event comments:

This was a humbling race and showed me that I need to do some training before tackling hills of this caliber. OK of any caliber.

Wow... you're just getting around to posting this now?

This race was put together by mean people.  The kind of mean people that would kick you repeatedly in the shins or poke you in the eye with a sharp stick just for fun.

Glad we finished it, but maybe some hill training would be a good idea?  Just maybe?
