I had my last race of the season today.

First of all I have to publicaly thank two people for special motivation and advice in the face of my stubborness. Rennick. You know how grateful I am, I cried on you. The Bear. You are just so right all of the time and when you are not I am too afraid to tell you.

No for a quick report. Stony Creek Tri/Du. LOTS of BTers there. I had a double goal: 1. Finish in two hours and 2. beat my former training partner, whether he knew it or not.

As for the second goal, he did not show up, did not register and I have been told by my husband stopped training when I stopped training with him. I have some thoughts but none of them are nice so I will not share. I am not going to feel guilty about my evil thoughts. They are what they are.

The first goal? I was near the back again but not dead last and finished in ONE HOUR AND FORTY SIX MINUTES! About 16 minutes behind Rennick and 2 minutes behind Kimta.

I had a wonderful time and love this sport. I hammered on the bike in a way I did not think I could and since I was about last out of the water (I am so fast in the pool. Why can't I get it to translate?) I really made up ground on Connie (bike). I kissed her when I finished. I was passing people all over the place!

I love this sport. I am comitted for life.

Oh and Gary? If you post that picture you took of me I will get you. I don't know how, and I don't know when but you will pay my friend, oh yes, you will pay.

Great Job!!

Look forward to reading your race report once it is up. Sounds like your new love ..your bike....was a great partner in crime today!!

Interesting your ex-training partner was a no show. Better to get him out of your life, out of your training, and gone.

Nice job on the anthem! That was really touching...

BTW today was my first Tri. I signed up last minute as I was waffling. I'm glad I did it. It was a good rush. I will be back.

I'm trying to figure out my results. I went under the timer at 1:48 but started with the 39-30 sprint men about 4 waves back. I think we started around 9:30. I'm assuming the timer was for the first wave which would put me around 1:18. Oh well, I'm sure they will post results on the site soon.

Nancy ROCKED!!!  Here I was minding my own business biking along when suddenly - whizzzz - there goes Nancy flying by me with a "Hi Kim!  Keep it up!..."  (Voice fading away as she disappears into the horizon.)  Every single time I saw Nancy today - before, during and after the race - she had a big smile on her face and encouraging words for everyone.  And I know she didn't want anyone to know this but since someone else already mentioned it - it looks like we have a new tradition of having a BTer step in and sing the Anthem.  She proved today that not only can she bike like a mad woman, she also has guts like you would not believe and can sing!  My hat (and/or swim cap and/or helmet) is off to you - AWESOME JOB!

1:48.... you suck cause you were SUPER FAST!!!! You did it in, and I am guessing here, about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Excellent job!

Yeah the timer was set for the first Oly wave so when it read 2:29.50 as I came up on it I did not remember that. I busted my butt to make it under 2:30 cause that was my last, very pathetic race time. It took me a few minutes and Kim to straighten me out!

I wonder what my time would have been if I hadn't stopped to walk a half dozen times on the run!

I didn't run at all training for this mainly since I'm overweight (biking and swimming are much easier on the joints}.

It really suprised me how tough it is to run after biking!!

Woooo Hooo! Way to go Nancy! Great race, especially with the pneumonia, and you had the balls guts to sing the anthem to boot. No wonder chicken poo was scared to show, he knew would squash him like the cockroach he is.

What's next? Las Vegas?

Nothing till Vegas.

I swear my poor voice, not warmed up, was shaking. THe first half was 100% butchered. The second half was really decent tho. I wish I had known ahead of time. I am hoping to redeem myself by getting to the Karoke Finals on the cruise in October!

The race results are up at 3D. My official time was: 1.47.56

My swim time waw 15 minutes. I know I can do it faster if I get over my fear of being kicked, stop side stroking when I get scared (although I am the worlds fastest side stroker) and stop singing songs about being in the back of the pack REAL loud on the swim. Yes I really do that. It makes the people around me laugh and stops my being scared of drowning. I must have drowned in a past life.

I'm located in the lake area south of Jackson.

My plan is to continue the swim/bike training until it becomes too cold. I hope to increase stamina, strength and lose weight without pounding my joints. I plan on hitting the treadmill this winter to improve my run for next yearss races.

When do next season's race dates typically come out?

I have two kids so time is tight. It would be fun to train with a partner.

I normally sneakout early on the weekend for a ride or late after dinner (soon to be no more witht he shortening days). I swim out my back door during lunch.

Sundays in the early AM would probably be my best time.
