Just curious if any other BT'ers are signed up for this one.  I still consider myself a newbie and this will be my first tri that involves a trail run, so I'm excited!

Yep, I will be there!  LOVE this race...one of my favorites.  There should be a good group of us there.

Wife and I will be there.  I rode the bike course last weekend (4 times around, ugh), Buckhorn road was recently paved, and it is FAST now.

That was a BLAST!!! From the Loch Ness vegetation monsters to the rain needles stabbing my face on the bike, and especially the mudslide trail run! Loved it! Great job all the way around.

Definitely a race to remember. I had a scary moment hydro-planing at 38 mph on the steepest down. I had no control and luckily did not crash. Besides that, looking back on the day it was actually a lot of fun.

As explained by Michelin:

"The oval shape of a bicycle road tire contact patch permits effective water evacuation to help keep the tire from hydroplaning.

The footprint of a 23mm tire (approx. 7 sq. cm) is so small that the bike would need to be traveling at about 120MPH in order to hydroplane."

That'd be a heck of a bike split

But no I was freaked out about hydroplaning too! So I had to research the possibility. Most loss of traction is due to the painted lines and metal covers combined with user error.

That one downhill had me scrubbing my brakes to keep them dry as carbon wheels SUCK at slowing in the wet...lol

Was a fun race, really enjoyed the adversity.  The trail being muddy and trying to stay to the side did a number on my hip, a little more sore today than normal after a short race, it was fun none the less.  Smelling all of that bacon cooking halfway through the run gave me a little extra boost for some reason.
