Comments: I can't drink water while running although I tried. Didn't really need water anyway. Stuck to Mike Ricci's recommended plan for someone new to 10k racing (2 miles z2, 2 miles z3, 2.2 miles at whatever) Had a great time and felt strong the entire race. What would you do differently?: Nothing. This HR pacing obviously isn't going to work for 10k runs where I'm trying to make a goal time, but it made my first 10k a blast. Post race
Warm down: walked, took water, gatorade, banana and a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sticking to HR plan. Event comments: Awesome race for $5 and you just show up the morning of the race. I'll definitely do this again. Last updated: 2005-09-12 12:00 AM

1/2 WW english muffin w/ almond butter & about 14 oz fruit smoothie with strawberries, banana, blueberries, soy milk and whey. Probably about 12 oz water.
*Awesome pre-race meal - felt great, tons of energy.
3-4 minutes jogging about 15 min. before race.
