Not liking the current forecast track of Irene.  Anyone racing in the eastern part of the state this weekend?

Still time for it to change directions, but it looks as if at the very least we're going to get pretty wet!

Going on vacation to Oak Island sunday...which just happens to be the landfall point right now.  Wonder how the tri-bike will handle in 100mph winds?  Pretty sure I could swim to Wrightsville beach in about 30 minutes with the current ;-)

But what about the front?  40mm?  60mm?  Two discs?   And will my x-lab effect aerodynamics at 30 degree yaw with 100mph winds?

Should be an interesting vaca if we can get there.  The $35 trip insurace sure looks like a good deal right about now...since I declined...we are going hell or high water (literly)!

Why must it come during the weekend!?  Now I am either going to have to run 2 hours on a treadmill or 4 hours trainer ride...neither sound like much fun

11 am update has it heading a little further east again (although, of course, this far out it's a crap shoot!).   I saw one report that said it may even reach cat. 4 before reaching land - not good!

Fingers crossed that it may keep turining and stay out at sea.

Forgot to ask you.  How is the Brunswick Community College pool?  Might need to get a swim in next week and the ocean may be a wee bit bumpy for me.  Looks like that pool is the closest I can find to Oak Island.

Tell me about it!!  I just felt my first earthquake...thought someone was shaking my cubicle!!!  As for Irene...I'm REALLY hoping she comes this way!  I don't want a category 4 hurricane, but we REALLY need the rain.  I live about 15 miles from a 5700+ acre swamp fire that has drastically affected my running/biking routes!  It's gonna take a lot of rain to put out the fire!

That is a very good swimming facility.  I've used it the last two years while on our annual family beach trip.

The pool is OK but needs a cleaning.  Unfortunately I think they might have to drain it to really get it clean.  There usually are open lanes.  It's $7 a day for non members.  I'll check it out when I swim tomorrow.  Bob

I am not worried about clean...I try not to touch the bottom of my Y pool either...band aids, hair, you name it!  Gross.  I just want a place that isn't 88 degrees and not super crowded!

Thanks Bob and Patrick for the info.
