This will be my season ender, is this it for most folks? Also, sadly, this will be my last one in this area (NC) as I am moving to Kansas later in October, so to all my BT buddys, take care and hope you had a great season!

Good luck. I did Pinehurst 2 years ago. Being the South there are still lots of races all the way into October. I have 2 races that month: Lake Royale (10/1), and Washington Half (10/29).

As long as Set Up doesn't cancel the race (for lack of participation), I plan on the Shipwreck Triathlon in Holden Beach as my season ending race.  It will be my first ocean swim triathlon and all the distances are unique, so this race really appeals to me.

I'll be in Pinehurst, but have not decided on the international or the sprint.

Good Luck in Kansas!

Thanks Alan! I was really bummed about the American Triple T getting canceled (and whatever was behind the scenes), but this is going to be one that I am not holding back an ounce on, so I want to go out in a blaze!

Hope to see you there!

Take care

So who is in on the Pinehurst Sprint? I have looked over the course, and it looks like it will be a Pine-hurts, just on a smaller scale.

Looks like fun!

My sister and brother-in-law decided to register a couple of days ago and talked me into it. I'm excited. It'll be my first race since White Lake back in May. I spent the summer months in New Mexico and barely ran, didn't swim at all, and had very few good days for the bike because of really high winds and storms. Since getting back to NC a month ago, I've been training hard for the Emerald Isle Tri, and I think I'm ready for a sprint this weekend. Can't wait to race.

Number 96 here. Yeah, but the water is going to be warmer than the air. Nothing in the rules about wearing the wetsuit for the entire race!

Also, in my AG, 8 of the 14ish are the top guys in the state, can you say awesome! So much for a podium for me!

Great race today everyone! How did everyone do? I finished in 1:36:24 and took third in my age group. I've got one more race this season, the Emerald Isle Triathlon on October 15th. To everyone who ended their season at Pinehurst, good luck in the offseason.

I enjoyed the race!

I was going to do the international one. After I got my left shoulder injury, I decided to do sprint.

So my swimming was incredibly slow than usual, overall it was great race!

My last Pinehurst race at current age group.

It was a blast.  It was only my second tri, and I hadn't been able to exercise much at all b/c of work, so I didn't have any hopes of doing that well, but I enjoyed the experience.  At the start, I thought the bike was going to be more brutal b/c of the cold winds; although I could have done without the cold cross-winds, it wasn't all that bad, and I didn't think about it much after the halfway point.  I'm not strong on the hills, but I enjoyed them, it made for a more interesting race for sure.  Volunteers were great, and the people were a lot friendlier than the first tri I did.  A good second race.

That's good to hear, not all tri folks are too uptight! I agree, this was a fun race, and could have done without the cold, but either way, it was a good one. This was my last east coast race since I'm moving to the heartland, hope they have some good races there!

Good luck to everyone out there and keep on tri-ing!
