furiousferret - 2011-09-01 12:27 PM I'd like to so TJ Tollakson or Potts win it, and Mirinda on the female side.  However if I ha 10k to put on someone, it would be Marino Vanhoenaker and Chrissie.  I got the last 2 years right so book it!

You had Macca and Miranda last year?

Yes, I kept telling people Macca had valid excuses (mechanical on bike, gi issues) the last 2 years and he was not washed up.

I'll go with Faris for no other reason then I always pick Faris.

For the women I'd really like to see Mirinda or Diebens win but it's hard to not pick Chrissie.  A nice PNF/ Erin Baker-type rivalry would be fun to watch for a few years.

Men: 1) Crowie 2)Raelert 3)Marino VanHokener (spelling?)

Women: 1)Chrissie 2)Carfree 3)Dibens.

Feel free to switch women's #2 and #3.  Its a race for 2nd place any time Chrissie is in the field.

Men: 1. Crowie  2. Raelart  3. Potts (could be anyone though)
Women  1. Chrissie  2. Mirinda  3. Ellis

For all Mirinda's running prowess, she can't even dream of running down Chrissie in an IM.  Maybe she can make up a minute at best, but Chrissie is just as good on the run.  The men's race is going to be the one to watch.  Can't wait to see if Crowie can adjust his strategy & pull it out.

I think either Chrissie or Mirinda and on  the mens side, A. Raelert or Crowie.

With some big names out/injured, I would love to see some of the up and coming athletes who year after year make the necessary improvements and are climbing their way up the ladder to the podium. (eg. Massachusetts girl, Caitlin Snow)

Or even some of the top age-groupers trying to put the name up near the top 20 finishers.  There have been a few races this year in which some of the countrys top/fast age-groupers have done really well, right up front with the pros.

Macca, sure.  But you picked Mirinda over Chrissie last year?  Before Chrissie pulled out?

KSwiss has put up $1,000,000 to the Raelert brothers if they run 1-2 at Kona. The only question is which one will win. Not sure about a 1-2 finish, but it wil be hard to beat two guys racing and cooperating for a $1 Million prize.

Chrissie can't be touched. Her only competition is her own mind. She ought to UNDERTRAIN for Kona, so that she doesn't get sick again. She does not need to be at her best to win. 90% is enough. There is enough evidence to support that.

Only one of the Raelerts will be there.  Michael got injured before his IM so hasn't met the requirements to qualify.

That looks better!

If I crack the top 100 in my age group I'd be damn happy, as last year it took a 9:58 to pull that off.

I'll take Crowie and Chrissie for the win

I want Lieto to win it and then write a book called "It's all about the bike!"

And the 1 Raelert that will be there probably won't be 100%.

How about top 100 (overall) out of the water instead?  I couldn't find results that you can sort by swim time so I dunno what that would have been last year...

Looks like 104th place was a 57:30, so I'll take that challenge! Unless a shark bites off my leg, I should be able to swing a 57.

Deal, I'll be on the pier counting.  20 pushups if you don't make it!
