Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Interesting I do not see much about this in the news, or here for that matter. I like Herman Cain I have not thought he had much of a chance but hmmm where did that yard sign go. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Sunday AM, everyone is out training or racing CB. Love this guy, but I don't really care for one part of his 9-9-9 plan. The 9% national sales tax bothers me quite a bit. It reminds me of the VAT in Europe which really made the cost of things go up when visiting there. Call it 9-9-2.5 and I can live with it. I don't think he would have a chance to make such sweeping reform to the tax code anyway, so it's probably a moot point. Even if the Senate went Rep. I think there are too many Republicans that are to blame for the spending problem we're in and won't really want to fix the problem. McConnell and Boehner are two of them IMO. I like Cain, and he's top 3 for me right now, with the top three all dead even. You mentiioned the race issue. It would really be interesting to see two black men in the general elelction for POTUS. Honestly, I think the edge might go to Obama. I know there are people who won't vote for a black man and bless their pointy heads, I know some of them. Faced with no other option, I would really be curious to see what they would do. In order to avoid the "bless their pointy heads" comment confusion, it WAS NOT an endearing term. |

I think that could be the closest we could get to taking race out of the equation and forcing people to vote based on the actual issues and the candidates stances on those issues. I like Herman Cain. I like that he's different than your lifetime Washington politician.

![]() I was talking with a guy at the gym the other day before I heard about this and told him I liked what Cain said and his ideas the best but thought that Romney would get the nod due to his political and media connections. Regarding the 9 9 9 one thing to remember, right now the corporate tax is being passed on to the consumer in the sale price and while I don't have anything to back my thoughts on this up I would guess it's well over 9%. It would also reduce the cost for the Federal govt. to collect and manage this and save billions in tax preparation costs. While some would say it would destroy an industry, I say it would free up millions of smart individuals to become more of an asset in our economy instead of an expense. The sad fact of the matter the media right or wrong plays to big of a role in saying who is a contender. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Sure if they drop prices to reflect the lower tax. Not sure I can rely on that. I'd like to see exactly how it would affect my bottom line before getting behind it 100 percent. Yes, the media is ecstatic about the Cain win. They see perceive him as a weaker candidate than Perry and are tooting his horn for all it's worth. Count on them to push the candidate they feel that has the best chance of losing to BHO. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Go Cain! The 9 9 9 is just a stepping stone. I believe his goal is to eliminate all wage based taxes and go for a consumption tax on new items only (the FairTax). This would be different from the VAT and would allow everyone to keep what they earn. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() It was a suprise, but i see it as more of a mini-protest over Perry's issue with in-state tuition for illegals and a general non-toe tingling appeal of Romney. Never holding public office has more pros than cons in my book, but as our next President, I would like a bit more depth in his bio. I know he grew a successful business, but that does not qualifty one for President. We made a big mistake underestimating experience in last election, please let's not make the same mistake again. Now give me Perry's conservative values and straight talk with Romney's financial experience and Cain's common sense approach and we have my ideal candidate. Now I think Cain would make one heck of a running mate for whoever wins the Primary. That would be a very interesting ticket. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Herman Cain is winning me over. Ron Paul is my first choice, but I could vote for Cain. I have only voted Republican once out of 5 presidential races. I personally want anyone who is not President Obama, but I will not vote "against" him. Mitt Obamney is just another waffling politician, IMO, and from watching the debates, I do not believe that Perry is ready for prime-time. I doubt that I am alone in looking and hoping for someone other than these 2 to be the nominee. Herman Cain is not an insider, has a plan and is a good communicator. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think Cain is a man who will bring experts to be advisers and is not too proud to listen. |

I think he could push any of the candidates over the top. I would also hope that doing so would not be a dead end for this remarkable young man. |
